Botswana’s dry season, from May to October, is the best time to visit for safaris, especially in the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. During this period, the floodwaters arrive in the Okavango, creating a unique inland delta and concentrating wildlife around water sources, making game viewing exceptional. The cooler temperatures and dry conditions also make it an ideal time for wildlife enthusiasts to explore the country.
From November to April, Botswana experiences its rainy season, also known as the Green Season. Even with a green and dry season, Kenya is considered a year-round safari and beach destination. To witness the Great Migration, August to October are the best months to visit the Maasai Mara and its surrounding reserves. With minimal rain and mild temperatures from December to March these months also offer great game viewing, and often with less crowds and more accessible pricing.
