When to visit

Zambia is best visited from May to October, during the dry season, when wildlife congregates around rivers and waterholes, offering excellent game viewing. This period is ideal for walking safaris in South Luangwa and canoeing in the Lower Zambezi, as well as enjoying cooler temperatures. From November to April, Zambia experiences its rainy season, and many safari lodges close during this time due to accessibility challenges and dispersed wildlife. However, it’s a fantastic period for birdwatching and to see Victoria Falls at its most powerful. While the rainy season is less ideal for safaris, it offers a unique perspective of Zambia’s lush, rejuvenated landscapes with fewer crowds.
