When to visit

Tanzania is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on your interests. For the Great Migration, plan your trip between June and October, when herds cross the Mara River in the northern Serengeti—perfect for game viewing as wildlife gathers around waterholes. From November to March, the Green Season offers lush landscapes and fewer crowds, with excellent birdwatching at Lake Manyara and the calving season in the southern Serengeti, where newborn wildebeests and predator interactions can be observed. Whether you choose the dry season for safaris or the quieter Green Season for stunning scenery and rich wildlife, Tanzania promises an unforgettable experience year-round.
